Biography:
Max Eisenhardt, later known as Erik Lehnsherr and ultimately Magneto, is a powerful mutant in the Marvel Universe. Born in Germany in the 1920s to a Jewish family, he endured the horrors of the Holocaust, witnessing firsthand the brutal consequences of prejudice and discrimination. This trauma profoundly shaped his worldview.
Magneto possesses the ability to control and manipulate magnetic fields. He believes mutants, whom he considers the next stage in human evolution (Homo superior), are superior to baseline humans and should not be subjected to their prejudice. His experiences fuel a deep distrust of humanity and a belief that mutants must protect themselves, by any means necessary, from human oppression.
This stance often puts him in direct conflict with his former friend, Charles Xavier, and the X-Men. While Xavier advocates for peaceful coexistence between mutants and humans, Magneto believes in mutant supremacy and is willing to use force to achieve it. Though often portrayed as a villain, Magneto sees himself as a protector of his people, justified in his actions by the history of persecution.
